RAMSEY CHORAL SOCIETY
Ramsey Choral Society originated as an ad hoc group of singers who performed at the Ramsey Arts Festival in 1989 as the Ramsey Festival Choir. Since then the choir has become an established part of the Ramsey scene giving three concerts per year in local venues. Currently there are about 30 members with a good balance between the sections but new members are always welcome. The repertoire is mostly drawn from smaller scale works but nevertheless covers the complete range of choral music from 16th Century to the present day. For most concerts we use organ or piano for accompaniment but we also engage a professional orchestral group for some concerts. Soloists may be drawn from the choir, or be local professionals. From time to time we include other local music groups including schools in our concerts.
REHEARSALS
We rehearse every Thursday evening at 7.30pm during term time at Ramsey Junior School, Station Road, Ramsey, Cambridgeshire PE26 1JA.
We are a non-auditioning choir and always singers for each of our four sections. We allow potential members to try us for three free weeks before committing to become a member. We would love to see you - why not give us a try?
